Osa Meji 2026/2027 World Ifá Reading | Oke Itase Ile Ife Nigeria

IFA OF THE YEAR 2026/2027 FROM OKE-ITASE, ILE-IFE, OSUN STATE, NIGERIA.

OSA MEJI ALSO KNOWN AS OSA ELEYE

Eriwo Ya!!!

Traditional Yoruba elder representing the Osa Meji (Osa Eleye) World Ifá Reading 2026/2027 from Oke Itase, Ile Ife, Nigeria, symbolizing wisdom, spiritual guidance, and ancestral knowledge.

In the name of Olódùmarè, Òrúnmìlà, and all the Òrìṣà, we extend our greetings to adherents, devotees, and well-wishers throughout the world.

We also convey the greetings of His Eminence, Owolabi Awodotun Aworeni, the Araba/Olu-Isese Agbaye, Permanent Chairman of the Council of Araba/Oluwo, and Pillar of the International Council for Ifa Religion (ICIR), to all and sundry during this auspicious season of the World Ifa Festival.

With the collaborative efforts of the Board of Ethics and Scripture and the Council of Elders of the International Council for Ifa Religion (ICIR), we hereby present the verses of the Odu Ifa of the Year as divinely inspired and recited by the assembled priests on the sacred mat during the early hours of Sunday, 7 June 2026. This day marks the first day of the year in the Ifa Calendar System.

The Odu Ifa revealed for the year is Òsá Méjì (Òsá on the right and Òsá on the left), also known as Òsá Eléyẹ. The Odu appeared with Ire Ajé (Prosperity and Economic Well-being). To secure and sustain this blessing, the performance of the prescribed ebo is strongly recommended.

The divination process benefited from the participation and contributions of Ifa priests from Nigeria, the Republic of Benin, the Republic of Togo, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, the United States of America, Venezuela, Cuba, Argentina, Panama, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Ghana, Sweden, Italy, and France.

We are pleased to present below the verses of Òsá Méjì, together with their narratives and interpretations, for the guidance, benefit, and spiritual advancement of humanity throughout the year.

  1. LONGEVITY AND SOUND HEALTH

Ifa assures everyone of protection against untimely death. According to Ifa, people should be confident of enjoying long life, good health, and longevity. However, ebo is prescribed so that no negative forces, adverse influences, or harmful energies will hinder the manifestation of this divine assurance of long life. The prescribed sacrificial materials include three cocks, palm oil, solid pap (eko), money, and kola nuts. By performing the recommended ebo, the blessings of longevity, peace, and well-being shall be firmly established. On this, Ifa says:

i.

Place me on the ridge

Ifa says that anyone who is ill should offer ẹbọ with a goat. After the ẹbọ, Ìpèsè will be performed, and the goat will serve as a substitute for the person's life, thereby averting danger and restoring health. Through this sacrifice, the individual shall overcome illness, regain strength, and enjoy long life. On this, Ifa says:

  1. PROSPERITY

Ifa foretells abundant blessings, progress, and prosperity for the people during the course of this year. According to Ifa, individuals should regularly shave their hair and offer prayers and supplications to their Ori, seeking guidance, favor, success, and all-round blessings. Ifa further advises that both Ifa and Ori should be appeased continually so that their support and benevolence may remain steadfast.

To this end, ebo is prescribed with the following items: two rats, two fish, two hens, honey, gin, two pigeons, money, and kola nuts. Ifa assures that upon the successful completion of the prescribed sacrifice, both Ifa and Ori will be appeased and will bestow their blessings upon the people. Consequently, the paths to success, prosperity, good health, honor, fulfilment, and all forms of iré (good fortune) shall be opened. On this, Ifa says:

Ooro teere oju ebu

A difa fun Ejiosa

I have shaved my head

Ifa foretells prosperity and success for people in foreign lands during the course of this year. According to Ifa, many individuals will relocate from their countries, towns, or places of birth to settle in other locations. Ifa assures that such movements and relocations will be beneficial and that the new settlements will provide favorable opportunities for growth, progress, stability, and prosperity.

Ifa further declares that those who travel or establish themselves in new environments shall find acceptance, support, and avenues for advancement. Their endeavors shall be fruitful, and they shall enjoy the blessings of peace, abundance, and fulfilment in their adopted homes. Therefore, people are encouraged to embrace positive opportunities for relocation and expansion, while remaining mindful of the necessary spiritual obligations that will sustain these blessings. Ebo is to be made with 8 pigeons, gin, solid pap, honey, money, and palm oil. On this, Ifa says:

Bi a ba da oti sile a di okun

Bi a ba da oguro sile a di osa

Osa ree osa ree

Ifa says that the support, protection, and benevolence of our celestial comrades (Ẹgbẹ́ Ọ̀run) are greatly needed at this time. According to Ifa, their assistance will shield individuals from shame, disgrace, disappointment, and situations that could bring dishonor or embarrassment. Their guidance and intervention will help ensure success, acceptance, and fulfillment in one's endeavors.

To secure these blessings, Ifa prescribes ebo and emphasizes that the appeasement of Ẹgbẹ́ Ọ̀run is essential. The sacrificial materials include all edible items, honey, a cock, a hen, a pigeon, money, and a guinea fowl. Ifa assures that upon the successful completion of the prescribed ebo, Ẹgbẹ́ Ọ̀run will be appeased and will extend their support, protection, and favor. As a result, obstacles to progress shall be removed, honor shall replace disgrace, and the path to success and well-being shall be opened. On this, Ifa says:

Isansa meji ni ki ara won jee jee je

A difa fun Egbe Aye

A bu fun ti Orun

Borokinni Orun kii je ki ti Aye o te

Borokinni Orun e gba wa

Ti Aye n te lo

Cast Ifa for the Egbe Aye

As well as the Egbe Orun

Comrades in the celestial space prevents the ones on Earth from disgrace

Comrades in the celestial space, come to our aid

The ones on Earth are about to be disgraced

Ifa assures us of abundant and enduring blessings. According to Ifa, we shall not lose the achievements, wealth, honor, and fortunes that we have acquired up to this moment. Instead, greater blessings and opportunities shall continue to locate us. Life will be favorable to us, and our days shall be filled with joy, fulfillment, peace, and lasting happiness.

However, Ifa emphasizes the importance of remaining in harmony with the energies and benevolence of the Iyami. To this end, people are strongly advised not to quarrel with, offend, or mistreat any woman, whether she be one's mother, wife, daughter, sister, relative, or friend. Respect, kindness, and proper regard should always be shown to women so that the blessings ordained by Ifa may manifest fully.

To secure these blessings, ebo is prescribed with seven pigeons, two pincers, water-yam leaves, and other sacred Ifa leaves. Following the completion of the ebo, an akose shall be prepared and applied through ritual incisions around the wrists. Ifa assures that through these observances, the blessings of preservation, prosperity, happiness, favor, and lasting success shall be established in the lives of the people. On this, Ifa says:

  1. PROTECTION, VICTORY AND SECURITY OF LIVES

Ifa assures us of divine protection and security. According to Ifa, all forms of visible and invisible adversaries shall be unable to prevail against us. The enemies, regardless of their strength, schemes, or intentions, will not be able to overpower, subdue, or bring harm to us.

Ifa declares that the protective forces surrounding us shall remain steadfast and vigilant. Every plot of the wicked shall be frustrated, every evil plan shall fail, and every attempt to undermine our progress shall be rendered ineffective. Through the grace of Olódùmarè, the support of Ifa, and the guidance of the Òrìṣà, we shall overcome challenges, triumph over opposition, and continue to move forward in peace, honor, and prosperity. Ebo will be made with a he-goat, a big rat, money, palm oil and Ifa leaves.

On this, Ifa says:

Ifa assures the people of divine protection and preservation. According to Ifa, no form of calamity, disaster, tragedy, or misfortune shall befall us. We shall be safeguarded against dangers, accidents, losses, and all forces that may seek to bring sorrow or hardship into our lives.

However, Ifa emphasizes the importance of making the prescribed ebo so that these blessings of protection may be firmly established and all negative influences averted. By carrying out the recommended sacrifice with sincerity and faith, the people shall enjoy peace, security, stability, and freedom from unforeseen calamities. Ifa assures that the protective forces working on our behalf shall remain strong, ensuring that we continue to live in safety, progress, and well-being. The items of ebo for this are 8 eggs, a big rat, a cock or he-goat, palm oil, money and solid pap. On this, Ifa says:

Ifa says that the protective energy, strength, and divine authority of Ṣàngó are greatly needed at this time. According to Ifa, the benevolence of Ṣàngó will provide protection against adversity, repel hostile forces, and empower people to overcome challenges and opposition. Through the support of Ṣàngó, courage, justice, victory, and security shall be established.

To secure these blessings, Ifa prescribes ebo with three cocks, or alternatively a he-goat or a ram, together with bitter kola, palm oil, and àmàlà. Ifa assures that upon the successful completion of the prescribed sacrifice, Ṣàngó will be appeased and his protective and empowering energies will manifest in the lives of the people. Consequently, dangers shall be averted, enemies shall be subdued, and the people shall enjoy peace, protection, and progress. On this, Ifa says:

Ifa warns that there are individuals who are actively working against us and seeking our downfall. According to Ifa, some of these adversaries have been commissioned or influenced to carry out harmful missions against us through various means. However, Ifa assures that all their evil intentions, conspiracies, and diabolical efforts shall be rendered ineffective.

Ifa declares that the protective forces standing on our behalf are far greater than the schemes of our enemies. Every plot designed to bring harm, disgrace, loss, or sorrow shall fail to achieve its purpose. The plans of the wicked shall be exposed and frustrated, while those under the protection of Ifa shall remain secure and victorious. Therefore, people should remain steadfast, courageous, and committed to the necessary spiritual obligations, knowing that success, triumph, and divine protection are assured. In the end, victory shall surely be ours. The items of ebo here are a big rat, 3 cocks, palm oil, kola nuts, money, 4 snails and solid pap. After the ebo, Obatala will be appeased. 1. SPIRITUAL POTENCY

Ifa says that many people are presently experiencing spiritual weakness and diminished spiritual potency. As a result, numerous prayers, supplications, and petitions are not producing the desired results. Ifa reveals that some individuals are being hindered by adverse spiritual influences that obstruct the effectiveness of their prayers and prevent their aspirations from manifesting.

For those whose supplications appear ineffective or whose efforts have not yielded expected blessings, Ifa recommends the performance of ebo and the preparation of appropriate akose to be applied to their Ikin Ifa or Òrìṣà. Through these prescribed spiritual observances, the barriers to progress shall be removed and the potency of their prayers and invocations shall be restored.

Ifa further indicates that some of these challenges are connected to negative energies and malevolent spiritual influences. Therefore, spiritual cleansing, appeasement, and the proper observance of the prescribed rites are necessary to neutralize these forces. Ifa assures that upon compliance with these instructions, prayers shall receive favorable responses, spiritual strength shall be renewed, and blessings, progress, and fulfillment shall begin to manifest. On this, Ifa says:

A difa fun Orunmila

Cast Ifa for Orunmila

Ifa advises that people should recognize and appreciate the spiritual significance and influence of the Iyami in their lives as a means of maintaining spiritual strength, balance, and well-being. Ifa teaches that acknowledging and respecting the powers associated with the Iyami contributes to spiritual stability and the successful manifestation of blessings.

Ifa further instructs that priests and spiritual practitioners should always accord due reverence and recognition to the Iyami in the performance of their spiritual duties. Ipese must always be given to Iyami Aje this year. Ebe aje and Imule Agba are the akose to be taken serious this year. By doing so, the efficacy, potency, and effectiveness of their spiritual activities, prayers, rituals, and sacred responsibilities will be enhanced.

Moreover, Ifa strongly warns that anyone who desires to preserve spiritual power, favor, and progress must never disrespect, belittle, oppress, or look down upon women. Whether they are mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, relatives, or members of the community, women should be treated with dignity, honor, and respect. Ifa assures that those who uphold these principles shall enjoy spiritual strength, divine support, and enduring blessings, while avoiding the loss of spiritual potency and favor. On this, Ifa says:

  1. MARITAL LIFE

Ifa instructs that harmony, care, and mutual responsibility must exist within marriages and partnerships. According to Ifa, couples are expected to take good care of one another in order to sustain peace, stability, and prosperity within the home.

Husbands are advised to provide for, protect, and attend to the needs of their wives with love, fairness, and responsibility. In the same manner, wives are encouraged to support their husbands, stand by them, and contribute positively to their life endeavours, so that greater achievements, success, and fulfillment may be attained.

Ifa emphasizes that when there is mutual care, respect, and cooperation between couples, their home will be strengthened, their progress will be steady, and their blessings will multiply. Such harmony brings peace of mind, joy in the family, and lasting prosperity. Ebo should be made with edible things include beans cakes and gin. After the ebo, Aje will be appease. On this, Ifa says:

Ifa further advises couples to support one another in their respective responsibilities and life endeavors. Each partner is expected to see the other as a helper and ally, ensuring that no one fails in fulfilling their rightful duties within the relationship. Through mutual assistance, understanding, and cooperation, the home shall be strengthened and progress shall be sustained.

Ifa also instructs that couples should pay attention to and appease each other’s Ori, so that destiny alignment, harmony, and success may be established within the union. In addition, Ifa emphasizes the need to appease Òyá, the spiritual force of transformation and movement, so that obstacles may be removed and positive changes may be welcomed into the relationship.

The prescribed ebo includes two hens or a goat, two cocks, two pigeons, palm oil, pap, money, kola nuts, and bitter kola. After the completion of the ebo, Òyá shall be properly appeased with a hen or a goat, while Ori shall be fed with a pigeon. Ifa assures that through these rites, harmony, progress, spiritual alignment, and lasting success shall be established in the lives of the couples. On this, Ifa says:

Ifa advises women in polygamous marriages to exercise patience, understanding, and emotional restraint in their relationships with one another. According to Ifa, co-wives are encouraged to avoid unhealthy rivalry, jealousy, and unnecessary competition that can disrupt peace within the home. Instead, they should cultivate cooperation, tolerance, and mutual respect.

Ifa further warns against taking advantage of another wife’s weakness, challenges, or difficult moments to shame or disgrace her. Such behavior, Ifa teaches, brings division, bitterness, and spiritual imbalance into the household.

In addition, Ifa instructs that co-wives must not separate their children or show favoritism or discrimination among them. All children within the household should be treated equally with love, care, and fairness, regardless of their mother. Through this unity and fairness, peace and stability will be sustained in the family, and the household will enjoy harmony, progress, and collective blessings. Ebo must be performed here with 8 pigeons, 8 rats, 8 fish, 8 hens, 8 cocks, kola nuts, gin and money. After the ebo, Olokun and Olosa will be appeased. On this, Ifa says:

  1. NEED FOR PEACE AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Ifa says that some elders, rulers, or leaders are in conflict with one another. The disagreement among them is causing considerable harm to the land and its people. Therefore, efforts should be made to resolve the disputes and restore peace among them. Ifa warns that if the conflict is allowed to continue, the land may lose many of its blessings, fortunes, and opportunities, and may also become vulnerable to various dangers and misfortunes. Ebo should be made with 7 cocks or a he-goat, and an emo rat. Other items include palm oil, gin, kola nuts, honey, money and solid pap. On this, Ifa says:

When theybwere going on hunting expedition

They killed an emo rat

The king Ajalorun said he would take it

The king Ajalaye also claimed the right to take it

Ajalorun then left in anger

Rain stopped to fall

Small streams dried off

All rivers were covered by dry leaves

Asa, the eagle took the ebo but could not carry it

Awodi, the hawk carried the ebo but could not take it to Ajalorun

Igunnugun, the vulture is taking the ebo to Orun with much stress

The two kings were renowned hunters. They hunted together regularly and always shared whatever game they caught. One day, however, they succeeded in killing only an emo rat. A dispute arose over who should take possession of the small animal. Oba Ajalaye insisted that the rat belonged to him, while Oba Ajalorun, deeply offended by the claim, departed in great anger.

Thereafter, various misfortunes began to afflict Otu-Ife. Concerned about the situation, the elders consulted Ifa through divination. The Odu that appeared was Osá Méjì. Ifa prescribed ebo and instructed that the sacrificial materials should include an emo rat.

The ebo was entrusted to Asa (the hawk) to deliver to Orun (the spiritual realm), but Asa was unable to complete the task. Awodi (the kite) also attempted the mission but likewise failed. It was only Igunnugun (the vulture) that successfully carried the ebo to Orun.

During Igunnugun's absence, however, nobody cared for its aged mother. Left unattended and hungry, she was forced to wander to the farm in search of food. Sadly, she died there from hunger and exhaustion.

When Igunnugun eventually returned to Aye (the earthly realm), a heavy rainstorm had begun. The rain was so intense that it sought shelter from house to house. Yet no one opened their door to receive it. Instead, people drove it away and struck its head with clubs. This, according to the tradition, is why the vulture remains bald-headed to this day.

Rejected everywhere, Igunnugun finally found refuge in a secluded place in the bush. Exhausted and severely hungry, it came upon a corpse in the darkness of the night and fed on it.

The following day, when Igunnugun arrived home, it was informed that its mother had gone to the farm and died there. Since nobody expected Igunnugun to return, no one had recovered her body for burial. It was then that Igunnugun realized, with great sorrow, that the corpse upon which it had fed during the night was that of its own mother.

Overwhelmed by grief and anguish, Igunnugun pronounced a curse upon humanity, declaring that every person must, in one way or another, taste his or her mother. Thus, according to this sacred narrative, all babies suck the breasts of their mothers from birth, thereby fulfilling the pronouncement of Igunnugun.

Ifa assures that peace, stability, and harmony will be restored. The prevailing troubles and disturbances will gradually come to an end, and the people shall once again enjoy peace of mind and prosperity. Ifa further declares that all lost glories, fortunes, opportunities, and blessings shall be recovered. What has been diminished shall be renewed, and what has been lost shall be regained. Therefore, everyone is encouraged to remain hopeful, steadfast, and committed to the necessary sacrifices and righteous conduct that will bring about the fulfillment of these blessings. Items of ebo here are 4 pigeons, honey, gin and money. On this, Ifa says:

Osa Meji 2026/2027: Final Reflections and Spiritual Guidance

As we journey through the Osa Meji year, may we walk with wisdom, humility, and good character. This sacred Odu reminds us that long life, prosperity, protection, spiritual strength, and peace are available, but they must be matched with discipline, respect, and alignment with destiny.

Osa Meji calls us to honor our Ori, strengthen our connection to Egbe Orun, respect the Great Mothers, nurture our relationships, resolve conflicts, and remain mindful of the unseen forces that help maintain balance in creation.

May this year bring good health, abundance, victory over adversity, restored spiritual potency, and lasting blessings to you and your family. May the wisdom of Ifa guide your decisions, may your Ori open the doors destined for you, and may the blessings revealed through Osa Meji manifest fully in your life.
